A’IBOM PDP CHAIRMAN THROWS WEIGHT BEHIND MKPÓ AMAA CHANGE INITIATIVE
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan has thrown his weight behind a front line Socio-political Organisation in the state, Mkpó Amaa Change Initiative.
Receiving the group’s delegation led by its International Coordinator and Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Reorientation, Mr Ekpeno Gold, in his office on Monday, Elder Akpan said he was pleased with the giant strides recorded by the group, especially its voter enlightenment tours and campaigns against societal ills.
He particularly lauded the group for promoting the lofty achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel and promised to support the Initiative in its programmes.
“I am happy to receive you in my office today. I have followed all your programmes and I can say that you’re doing well. I love this partnership and I need it to grow. So my office will support you. We need to enlightenment our people. We need to tell them the truth, that administering fetish oaths is bad, we need to encourage our people to go out and vote their PVCs”, he said.
Earlier, the International Coordinator of the Initiative, Mr Ekpeno Gold hinted that visit was aimed at cementing the group’s existing relationship with the Chairman and his office.
While thanking Elder Akpan for the warm welcome accorded the Mkpó Amaa Change team, Gold seized the opportunity to intimate the state PDP helmsman about the formal inauguration of Mkpó Amaa Change slated for 1st December, 2021 in Uyo.
He disclosed that the group is deeply rooted across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state and would work to ensure PDP’s victory in the 2023 polls.
On the delegation were the Secretary General of Mkpó Amaa Change Initiative, Mrs. Akanimo Oriowo, Director of Administration, Mr. Samuel Udoma, Director of Media and Publicity, Comrade Uwakmfon Dan and former Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Edidiong Ita.
