Ikim Has Raised The Bar Of Performance In Environmental Management – Rep Unyime Idem
Impressed by the effective management of environment in Akwa Ibom and his nationwide acknowledgment, Rep Unyime Idem, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Communications has given a thumbs up to Obong Prince Ikim, Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency, AKSEPWMA.
Rep Idem who represents Ukanafun/OrukAnam Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber, gave the kudos while speaking with the duo of Kendi Jumbo and Abasiono Dan at Sheraton and Towers Hotel, Abuja, venue of Igbere TV Award Night, yesterday.
Rep Idem also felicitated the AKSEPWMA Boss on his national award as the Environmental Health Personality of the Year 2021 and described the award as well-deserved.
The Ukanafun born federal lawmaker while commending Ikim’s passion for a cleaner and greener Akwa Ibom scored him 80℅ on a scale of 100℅, and urged him never to rest on his oars as “reward for hard work is more work”.
Hear him: “Tonight, I am here to witness the recognition done my brother, friend and one of my great constituents in the person of Prince Ikim. Today, he is being recognized nationally – not just at the State level or local government level but at the National. This goes to confirm the level of impact he has done in Akwa Ibom in maintaining a clean environment in the State. For me, just like the wise men do say, a reward for a job well done is more work”.
The Igbere TV award had the Vice President, HE Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as Special Guest of Honour, Senate Chief Whip, HE Senator (Dr) Orji Uzor Kalu, as Chief Host while the chairman of the event and keynote speaker were Sir Chikwe Udensi – Interpol Systems Expert, Prof. Georgewill Owunari – Vice-Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt, respectively.
Other prominent Nigerians who were also awarded alongside Prince Ikim were Gov. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State (Governor of the Year in Education/Infrastructure); Gov. Udom Emmanuel, Governor of Akwa Ibom State (Aviation development), Oluwaseyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State (Security/Youth empowerment), Obi Cubana, Man of the Year and Hon. Precious Selong, Chairman, Uruefong Oruko local government, Chairman of the Year, amongst others.
