REP. IDEM SPONSORS CONSTRUCTION OF SIX CLASSROOMS BLOCK IN MIGRANT FARMERS PRIMARY SCHOOL, IKOT AKPAN NSEK IN ORUK ANAM

The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rep. Unyime Idem has approved the construction of six classrooms block to Migrant Farmers School, Ikot Akpan Nsek in Oruk Anam local government area.

Presenting the award letter to the Headmistress of the school, Mrs Aniedi Umoh, Rep. Idem who was represented by the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Project Monitoring Hon. Amos Udom said the project by the lawmaker was to assist in the provision of a conducive learning environment for the pupils.

The Deputy Chairman, Communications Committee in the House of Representatives said the choice of Migrant Farmers Primary School, Ikot Akpan Nsek was part of his vision to contribute to Governor Udom Emmanuel’s education completion agenda and boosting of knowledge economy.

In her response, the Headmistress who led the management staff to receive Rep. Idem’s delegation thanked the lawmaker for the project and described it as touching the critical needs of the institution.

” I am very happy to witness this day. Rep. Idem is an answer to the prayers we have been offering to God, last year he donated text and exercise books to the pupils and today he is sponsoring the building of six classrooms block with toilets. These children will not stop praying for him, may God bless him for showing this kindness to our school,” the Headmistress added.

Speaking on behalf of the village, the village secretary, Mr Harry Udoh thanked the federal lawmaker for effectively representing the interest of the people of Oruk Anam and promised him their unwavering support and loyalty, adding that the contractor would be supported by the entire village to carry out the project within the stipulated time for the benefits of the pupils.

Highlight of the occasion was the taking over and inspection of the site by the lead contractor, Mr Olalekan Soneke who assured that work will commence immediately.

Those present at the occasion were members of Rep. Idem’s delegation which included former Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam local government area, Hon. Edwin Udofa, Chairman of the Technical Committee Mr Clayton Eyeneka, Secretary of the Committee Prince Ikpongifono Udom, a member of the technical committee, Pastor Ndifreke Otu, his Legislative Aide Nsenam George and the Special Assistant to the member representing Oruk Anam State Constituency, Mr Amadie Akpabio.

Recall that recently, Rep. Unyime Idem also sponsored the ongoing construction of ICT centres in Akwa Ibom State University Obio Akpa Campus and Comprehensive Secondary School Ikot Esenam as well as the construction of six classrooms block in Government Primary School Ikot Akpan Udo all in Oruk Anam local government area. The latest project brings to 31 the total number of projects executed so far in the federal constituency by the lawmaker.
