UNYIME IDEM DONATES LECTURE HALL TO MAURID POLYTECHNIC

…bags fellowship award of the institution

The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rep. Unyime Idem has donated a lecture hall to Maurid Polytechnic, Mbaiso, Nsit Ibom Local Government of Akwa Ibom State.
Idem disclosed this while playing host to management of the institution who paid him a visit in his Ewet Housing residence to bestow on him a Fellowship award for service to humanity as a federal lawmaker.

Idem expressed regrets for not attending the matriculation ceremony which took place on the 19th of March, 2022 owing to exigencies of the office that held him back. He expressed profound gratitude to the institution for finding him worthy for the award and promised to do more to move the human race forward.

“Let me thank Maurid Polytechnic for finding me fit for this honour. The award came at no cost of mine but was based on the little I have done for humanity. This is totally different from what other institutions do meaning that awards are now for sale. By the special privilege of God, I have been one of the luckiest Nigerians when it comes to award. But I sincerely appreciate this one as truly deserving.”
Idem announced that during his next phase of projects, Maurid will be considered for a lecture hall as his contribution to the development of the school. He said this is to ensure that the growing student population does not lack conducive learning environment.

“You have been watching me empower others, donate classroom blocks to schools. Today is your own turn to be supported. I want to announce that the next round of construction will commence in your school. I therefore announce the donation of a classroom block to your school. This is to show appreciation of your award on me without asking for money but was based purely on merit and service to humanity. You did not sell the award but you are trying to motivate and encourage them to do what is right”.

In an earlier remark, the Rector of Maurid Polytechnic Mr. Augustine Ukit flanked by the Registrar, Dr. Tomfred Fish and Director of Public Relations Mr. Innocent Akpan, lauded the selfless service and effective representation of Rep. Idem at the National Assembly noting that his impact is visible. The Rector said Idem is one of the best federal lawmakers having sponsored 16 bills, 16 motions, over 40 projects and initiated skills empowerment for 5000 youths. He urged the lawmaker to continue making the state and Nigeria proud in his representation.
