LBA SCORES AKSG HIGH ON WORKFORCE DEV

With the knowledge that, developing economies like Nigeria and states in the country have not ploughed consummate investment into Human Capital development, a Lagos-based Training Firm, Leverage Business Academy, LBA, has scored Akwa Ibom State Government high in Manpower development and capacity building.
The commendation was given by Resource Persons fr om the Leverage Business Academy, LBA, Lagos while presenting Lectures during the two days workshop for Top Civil Servants on Emotional Intelligence and Attitudinal Management, held on Monday, 4th to Tuesday 5th April, 2022.

At the workshop held at Breakforth Hotel and Suites, House of Assembly Road, Uyo, the Resource Persons, Uloma Umano, who lectured on Team Building and Orji Udemezue whose discourse was on Emotional Intelligence, emphasized that, for effective service delivery by corporate organisations and government MDAs, employees must be exposed to consummate training exercises.
Reiterating that, such trainings must be carried out in-line with the visions and goals of the establishments, Umano et al therefore commended the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration for placing priority on the training needs of her workforce as demonstrated by the ongoing workshop for Top Civil Servants across all MDAs in the State.
The Resource Persons who took time out to appraise the structures dotting the landscape of Akwa Ibom as well as the programmes earmarked for the people of the state can best be maintained and achieved by capable Manpower through effective training and re-training exercises.
So far, participants were taken through topical discourse such as: Leadership Development, Handling Complaints, Power of Habits and Conflicts Resolution by other erudite Lecturers including: Solomon P. Avbioroko and Fola Daniel Adelesi. Topics discussed were: Managing People – Strategic Perspectives and Power of Habits.

Participants at the two days programme who are mostly Directors and Deputy Directors in the different MDAs in the State have expressed deep appreciation to the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration for the numerous training programmes sponsored for Civil Servants toward building the capability of workers for enhanced performance and maximum productivity.
As deduced from the Lecturers, successful leadership revolves round Emotional Intelligence and Attitudinal Management for effective service delivery. The Lecturers therefore called on Top Civil Servants to recognise, understand and manage their emotions while also gearing efforts to recognise, understand and influence the emotions of others for a good leader/associates relationship.
Among the Directors attending the training programme include: Directors in the Ministry of Information and Strategy namely: the Director of Information, Mrs Blessing Urua, Director of Public Relations, Mrs Grace Akpan, Director of Administration, Mrs.Tiuba Nduonofit and Director of Accounts, Mrs Stella Akpanekwere.

Others are: Veronica Ekwere and Esther Ekutumoh from Ministry of Education, Esther Udosen from Yourh and Sports, Dr. Teddy Essien from Agriculture, Victor Umiom from Bureau of Political and Legislative Affairs and Idongesit Asuquo from Ministry of Health, among others.
The two days seminar featured brain teazers, interactive sessions and listening skills and communication distortion presentations by participants.
