GOVERNOR EMMANUEL COMMISSIONS ICT BUILDING BLOCK AND DIGITAL LEARNING CENTRE DONATED BY REP UNYIME IDEM

The Governor of Akwa Ibom, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has lauded the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rep. Unyime Idem, for adding value to his education completion agenda and what he described as effective representation, community development and for giving the people of his Constituency a sense of belonging.
The Governor made these remarks on Monday December 05, 2022 at Community Secondary School, Urua Ekpa Enang, Ukanafun Local Government Area while commissioning an ICT building block and 20 seater capacity Digital learning centre, donated by the Federal Lawmaker.

“I am impressed by the performance of Unyime Idem in the House of Representatives. He has prioritise the welfare of the people by bringing dividends of democracy back to the people. One of such dividends is the ICT Building block and 20 computer sets and other digital facilities. It takes a man of good conscience, capacity and love for the people to do what Idem has done” Mr. Emmanuel said.
The education loving governor said if there is anything that uplifts and balances the equations of life, that thing is education. He said what Idem has done is to complement his education completion agenda adding that, “Improving education is a collective responsibility. We all must contribute our quota like Hon. Idem has done”.

He commended the leaders of the area for always standing by his administration and urged them to keep faith with the PDP by voting for all the candidates in 2023.
The Governor who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Imoh Moffat, also urged the students to take advantage of the benefits the Digital learning centre will provide to become better.

“Let me urge the students of this school to take advantage of this facility to better their lives. Digital education is the way to go and Rep. Idem has made a huge sacrifice by providing a world class platform for you to be better. Take your studies seriously as this place has the capacity to produce the next set of leaders who will be in charge of government and the economy”.
Earlier in his remarks, the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rep. Unyime Idem, thanked the people of Ward 5 and 6 Ukanafun, for the honour done him and for supporting him in 2019 to emerge victorious as their member in the House of Representatives. He thanked the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for accepting to commission the digital learning centre.

“I am happy to be here personally for the commissioning and handing over of a 20 Seater capacity Digital learning centre with all the internet resources to Community Secondary School Urua Ekpaenang. Education for just certificate cannot guarantee a good life. But skills education with digital acumen and knowledge economy has become the new order. The world is now controlled by Technology. This school project is borne out of my passion to contribute to the education completion agenda of the Udom Emmanuel led government and the need to encourage our students to embrace ICT free of charge” Idem said.

“This digital centre has the capacity to train our students in all areas of ICT. The subjects they study in school have been installed in the computers for ease of access. From here we will produce data scientists, ICT experts, computer and robotic engineers, programmers and those involved in E-commerce, E-government, etc. ICT has made the world a global village and communication has been made easier. This centre will help our students learn about other societies and be well informed on happenings around them” Idem added.
Idem also used the opportunity to donate a giant size generating set to power the ICT centre hence solving the perennial issue of power supply in the school.
The Deputy Chairman Communications Committee who has been given the nod to return for a second term, urged the people to remain steadfast, and be part of the 2023 electioneering activities in the forthcoming elections. He called on them to come out en-masse to support and vote for the next set of leaders at all levels to get more of such projects.

Speaking separately, the Executive Chairman of Ukanafun LGA, Hon. Pst Godwin Inyieng, the Political Leader Ukanafun, Rt. Hon. Obong Eno Akpan, Chapter Chairman of the PDP, Hon Godwin Ekpe, Commissioner 1 in the Local Government Service Commission, Hon Saturday Akpan, the PDP 2023 House of Assembly candidate, Evangelist Emem Udom, Leader of Ward Five and former Minister for National Planning, Chief Senas Ukpanah OFR, Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Hon. Amos Udom, the Village Head of Afaha Obo Ikot Uko, Chief Imoh Robert Umanah, Ward Woman Leader, Miss Abasiodiong Udom, Youth Representative, Edidiong Akpaneyen, extolled the excellent performance and development strides of Rep. Idem, noting that the people have not had it this good. They commended Hon. Idem for donating a building block and the digital learning centre. They urged the people to reciprocate his kind gesture by returning him for a second term and support other candidates of the party.

The event was well attended by leaders of the ward and notable personalities within the local government area.
