Luke doles out 7m education grant to Constituents

Member representing Etinan /Nsit Ibom /Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency, Mr Onofiok Luke has awarded scholarships to 10 constituents in his Federal Constituency and paid bursary to 300 students selected from Etinan, Nsit Ibom and Nsit Ubium Local Government Areas.

Luke presented the education grants of #7m ( Seven Million Naira) to the beneficiaries at the Constituency office in Etinan on Monday.

Represented by the Chairman of the scholarship and bursary scheme, Comrade Ubon Marcus and the staff of the Constituency office, Mr Luke said that the education grant he was presenting to his constituents was his personal sacrifice and resources. He added that there was no budgetary provision for it and it is not part of any constituency project.

Luke said the action was necessitated by the difficulty experienced by some students in paying their fees, especially persons living with disabilities.

The federal lawmaker used the event to inform the constituents of the 24 projects he has attracted to the Federal Constituency and also the 12 ongoing projects spread across the three LGAs of the Constituency.
