UNYIME IDEM HONOURED AS MOST VALUABLE PARLIAMENTARIAN FOR SPONSORING THE HIGHEST OF MOTIONS IN 9TH HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The Member representing Ukanafun -Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Hon. Unyime Idem has been honoured as the Most Valuable Parliamentarian, MVP, for sponsoring the highest number of motions in the 9th House of Representatives.
Consequently, Idem has been presented with a Certificate of Valuable Parliamentary Performance in recognition of his achievement in sponsorship of Valuable and Impact-oriented motions in the 9th House of Representatives.
The event, which saw Unyime Idem make the top 20 Honours list, was organized by OrderPaper Nigeria, an independent, multi- platform parliament-focused organization dedicated to reporting, tracking, and archiving activities of the legislature.

The Executive Director of OrderPaper Nigeria, Oke Epia, had in his address, maintained that “the event is the climax of our over three years of painstaking research, extensive data-driven analysis, and final scrutiny of these performance-driven, excellence-inspired and public-spirited legislators by an independent panel of experts comprising accomplished individuals in the academia, parliamentary think-tank, professionals, civil society and the media.”
The event was held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Ahmadu Bello Way, Jabi, Abuja.

Rep Unyime Idem was honoured for sponsoring 22 bills and 23 motions between June 2019, when the 9th National Assembly was inaugurated, and 2023.

Hon. Unyime Idem has attracted over 40 life touching projects spread across the federal constituency and has so far trained 5000 youths and empowered 2500 constituents in 26 different skills as part of the bigger plan to raise the next generation of leaders.
Apart from chairing the House Ad-hoc Committee that investigated non implementation of Pay as you go tariff by DSTV and other satellite broadcast service providers in Nigeria, Rep Idem is member of 7 other committees and the Deputy Chairman Communications Committee. He was member National Assembly Conference Committee to harmonise the recently passed Electoral Act amendment Bill 2022, representing South-South Region. He is also the Chairman Ad-hoc Committee investigating unclaimed Federal Government Funds in Commercial Banks and infractions by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Given his numerous contributions to human capacity development and excellent service delivery, Rep.
