REP IDEM INSPECTS ONGOING 1.4KM ROAD AND DIGITAL LEARNING CENTRE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITY IN UKANAFUN

The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rep. Unyime Idem, Friday, June 2, 2023, inspected ongoing projects in Ukanafun LGA. The projects inspected were the 1.4km Barracks road with drainage facility and the 40 seater capacity digital learning centre for people living with disabilities.

While inspecting the road project, the Ukanafun born Lawmaker applauded the contractor for the level of job done and urged the firm to ensure timely completion to ease movement for officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, whose office is located along the road.

The Barracks road project brings to four the number of roads so far attracted by the lawmaker to the federal constituency. Others are Market road, Usung Atiat – Nyak Ibah road, and the Ikot Ukpong Eren bridge with access road.

The initiator of skills empowerment for 5000 youths, also made a stop over at the digital learning centre for people living with disabilities which is ready for commissioning. The centre equipped with 40 set of computers with internet resources, dozens of wheel chairs and other facilities, is the first of its kind in the state and aims at equipping beneficiaries with requisite skills in ICT and promotion of knowledge economy. With this latest addition, the number of digital learning centres has increased to 8 with a combined sitting capacity of 300.

The lawmaker thanked the benefitting communities for cooperating with the contractors and promised better deal during his second term which commences on June 13, 2023.
