SAMPSON IDIONG EMERGES DEPUTY CHIEF WHIP, AKWA IBOM ASSEMBLY
The Lawmaker representing Oruk Anam State Constituency, Hon. Sampson Idiong has emerged the new deputy Chief whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
Idiong emerged Deputy Chief whip on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong.
Other Principal officers elected are Hon. Saturday Johnny of Onna State Constituency, Leader, Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob of Nsit Ubium State Constituency, Deputy Leader and Rt. Hon. Effiong Johnson of Mbo State Constituency as Chief Whip.
In an interview with journalists shortly after the plenary, Idiong thanked the almighty God for the privilege to serve Akwa Ibom State.
The deputy Chief Whip who assured smooth relationship with the Chief Whip said the 8th Assembly under the speakership of Rt. Hon Otong will collaborate with other arms of government towards moving Akwa Ibom State forward.
