REPS SPEAKER ANNOUNCES UNYIME IDEM CHAIRMAN, COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC PROCUREMENT
The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam federal constituency of Akwa Ibom state, Hon. Unyime Idem, has been announced as Chairman, House Committee on Public Procurement.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, made the announcement while reading out the composition of the chairmanship positions of standing committees of the House during plenary on Thursday.
The Speaker explained that capacity, experience, knowledge and competence of individual lawmakers were major considerations that guided the selection process.
Responding to the appointment, Idem promised to use his new office for the betterment of his constituency and Nigeria at large.
Idem, a second term and ranking member of the Green Chamber, was Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Communications in the Ninth Assembly, where he performed excellently.
