It’s no longer news how Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, Chairman, Public Procurement Committee at the National Assembly, has through legislative engagement clinch the essence of democracy.
It’s a known fact the power that propel a nation rest on the legislature while law making determines how the people should be governed. It determines the nature of a country’s relationship with the outside world, setting the diplomatic tones, conditions and foundations for international business.

To prototype Idem, it was prayer answered when he delved into the Public Sector (Politics) from the Private Sector (Telecom) in 2018 and overwhelmingly won the PDP House of Representative Seat for Ukanafun/Oruk Anam federal constituency and was inaugurated on June 11, 2019. he has proven beyond doubt that he is a true representative of the people.

- Urgent call on the Service Chiefs and Inspector General of Police to intensify efforts in the rescue of the abducted school children and staff of government secondary school, Kagara, Niger State.
- Need for federal government to establish China Clay processing factory in Oruk Anam Local Government Area
- Need for the federal government to address the constitutional violation of the Federal Character Commission principle in the appointment of their chairman and secretary
- A call to condemn the “inhumane treatment” in Nigerian Boarding Schools across the country and comprehensive investigation into the activities of Nigerian Boarding School System.
- Need for the federal government to clampdown on the activities of illegal refinery operators in the Niger Delta region
- Urgent need to curb the incessant loss of lives and destruction of properties in train mishaps
- Urgent need to stop he Niger Delta Development Commission from releasing 15 billion Naira counterpart funding to the Federal Government
- An urgent need to condemn the call for interim government in Nigeria
- Urgent need to mandate federal ministry of works to construct dilapidated roads in Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency
- A calm to mandate the Inspector General of Police to secure the immediate release of Oruk Anam PDP Chieftain, Mr. Enobong Williamson from his abductors.
- Motion on the need for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), to complete abandoned hospitals and road projects in Ukabafun LGA of Akwa Ibom State
- An urgent need for the house intervention and prevention of Total Collapse of Power Supply to the while Nation.
- An urgent need for the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to shelve its planned strike in the interest of the Nation and embrace dialogue.
- An urgent call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take over the investigation and prosecution of Officer (s) involved in the shooting and killing of Ivan Onose Omhonria, and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
- An urgent call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to intensify efforts secure the immediate and save release of the seven abducted corps members from Akwa Ibom State in Zamfara State still in the captivity of the bandits .
- An urgent call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take over the investigation of the abduction of a corp member from Akwa Ibom State, Miss Imaobong Ssamuel, alongside 11 other corp members in Kogi State and intensify efforts to secure their immediate and save release.
