Senator Ekong Sampson Salutes ‘Big Boss’, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma at 70
Senator Ekong Sampson, representing Akwa Ibom South in the Senate, has hailed his ‘big boss’, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma on the occasion of his 2024 birthday.

Senator Udoma, a former Senate Chief Whip and Minister of Budget and National Planning is 70, today. He is easily one of Nigeria’s highly respected public figures.
Senator Ekong Sampson served as Chief Legislative Assistant to Senator Udoma at the National Assembly in the early 2000s before he moved on to become Local Government Chairman, House of Assembly Member and Honourable Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State EXCO.
The Onomkpoinam Mkpat Enin enjoys close personal relationship with Senator Udoma, often referring to him as his ‘mentor and boss’.
In a birthday tribute to Senator Udoma, Sampson hailed the celebrant as a global icon, who has been a role model and has had enormous influence on his political career.

Senator Sampson lauded Senator Udoma on his accomplishments, expressing that ‘courage, focus, brilliance and patriotism adorn Senator Udoma’s profile’. The Akwa Ibom South Senator added that Senator Udoma has done very well in the private sector and in public service.
Sampson said that Senator Udoma’s ‘principled position on resource control and opposition to Third Term are eternal high marks for democracy in Nigeria’. He noted that Senator Udoma has made very substantial contributions to nation building.
Senator Sampson, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals, expressed his gratitude, that of his family and supporters to Senator Udoma for his ‘mentorship, love and care’, which he has enjoyed over the years. The National Assembly man prayed for continuous soundness in health of mind and body for Senator Udoma and wished him many happy returns.
