IKONO STAKEHOLDERS ENDORSE KINGSLEY AKPAN’S LEADERSHIP STYLE
… EXTOL HIS STELLAR PERFORMANCE AS CHAIRMAN
Stakeholders of Ikono Local Government Area under the canopy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have commended the Transition Chairman of the area, Hon. Kingsley Akpan over what they described as his “stellar performance” within just three month office.

The commendation came at a meeting held Monday, at the residence of the Political Leader of Ikono, Sir S U. Akpan,
where the Chairman, Hon. Akpan presented his scorecard to the stakeholders as part of activities to mark his 100days in office.
Impressed by the strides recorded by Hon. Kingsley Akpan led Caretaker Committee, the stakeholders took turns to commend the Chairman for making the people proud, thereby prompting the Political Leader of the area to call for an official motion to appreciate the Chairman properly.

“This meeting is very significant.Coming together is the only way we can chart a new cause to redeem our image and secure the future and I sincerely commend our Chairman.
“We are very impressed with the level of impact that our Chairman has created in Ikono in less than three month in office.
“Since we have all attested that he has done well, it is only proper that we express our commendation through a proper motion”, Sir S U. Akpan avvered, paving way for Barr. Ekemini Uba and Hon. Itoro Columba to respectively moved and seconded a motion commending Hon. Kingsley Akpan and declaring total support for the direction he’s steering the local government.

Meanwhile, earlier on, the Chairman while briefing the Stakeholders had listed some of the strides his administration has made to include a comprehensive renovation of the Council Hall, Road grading, need assessment tour across the 12 wards in Ikono as well as other critical interventions he has made across sectors which he said would be officially unveiled during his 100days in office Celebration.

“I called for this meeting because I believe as stakeholders of Ikono Project it is necessary that we come together and collectively champion the cause of development and share ideas on how to move our local government forward.

“I came to brief you on what we’ve been able to achieve under our first 100days in office.
“As you all are aware, we started with a Familiarization/need assessment tour to all the 12 Wards in Ikono that afforded us the opportunity to know what the people really need.
“We’ve also been working on making the council conducive for workers by restoring power supply, renovating dilapidated structures and embarking on other critical interventions across sectors”

The meeting which afforded leaders and opinion leaders of Ikono the opportunity to deliberate on salient issues, was attended by stalwarts of the PDP from the area consisting of both serving and former government top functionaries.
Among those that attended the meeting include: Sen. Aloysius Etok, Engr. Iboro Ekanem, Prof. Augustine Umoh, Barr. Moses Akpan, Sir Victor Etefia, Dr. Martins Akpan, Mr. Moses Essien, Hon. Jack Essien, Hon. John John Akpan, Hon. Udeme Obot Hon. Nyakno Okoibu among a host of other eminent party stalwarts.
