CONSTITUENT GETS LECTURING JOB IN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, COURTESY OF REP. IDEM

Imo Okon Udo, a Ph.D scholar in Plant Breeding and Genetics has been offered a lecturing job in one of Nigeria’s leading Federal Universities, courtesy of the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Public Procurement, Rep. Unyime Idem.

Imo Udo, who has carried out some notable researches, programmes and publications, is expected to add value to the federal institution.
Handing Imo his letter of employment earlier today in Abuja, Rep. Idem, congratulated him on his employment and restated his vow to use his office and goodwill to facilitate employment of as many Akwa Ibomites as possible into Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

He charged the beneficiary to be a good ambassador of the federal constituency and Akwa Ibom state, in his new place of work.
“It is my firm believe that in the next 10 to 15 years, we will have Akwa Ibomites as directors, permanent secretaries and others in top management positions in the federal government. This way, we’ll be sure to attract federal presence, projects and programmes to Akwa Ibom state and lessen the burden on the state government.”
“We will also be able to close the quota gap where only few Akwa Ibomites are in managerial positions in federal MDAs,” Idem said.
Responding, the beneficiary, Imo Udo thanked the federal lawmaker for facilitating his employment, and vowed to make him and the federal constituency proud.

Imo’s employment scales the number of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam federal constituents employed by the federal government, facilitated by Rep. Idem to 16, in the last four months.
