AKHA APPLAUD ORUK-ANAM TC CHAIRMAN ON SUPERLATIVE SCORECARD
- As Dr. Frank Commissions Projects in the 16 Wards, Gets Confidence Votes
The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government has expressed satisfaction with the achievements recorded so far in Oruk-Anam Local Government by the Transition Committee Chairman, Rt. Hon. Dr. Kingsley Frank.

The House gave the commendation through its Chairman of the Local Government Committee, Rt Hon. Mfon Idung and the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kufre Edidem when the Committee visited Oruk-Anam as part of its oversight Tour on Performance Assessment to Local Government in the State.
“With the projects we have seen here, you have evidently keyed into His Excellency’s ARISE blueprint and you haven’t let down the expectations of your people. Therefore, the House of Assembly is proud of you and wishes you keep up the good work”, Rt. Hon Mfon Idung noted.
On his part, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Kufre Edidem also commended Dr. Kingsley Frank led government, noting that he has interpreted the vision of the Governor in Oruk-Anam local government.

“I must commend you for the serene environment and facelift given to the Council. I have seen your projects, particularly for ensuring peace and cooperation with stakeholders including your Member in the House. Oruk-Anam is a model of development and His Excellency must also be proud of your achievements. Keep up the good work and Congratulations”, the Deputy Speaker noted.

Welcoming the team to the Local Government, the Oruk-Anam Transition Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Frank saluted the Governor for the opportunity to serve his people and the House of Assembly for the visit.
He seized the medium to reiterate his commitment to serving the local government and reeled out his scorecard of over 50 people-oriented projects executed in the council and the 16 Wards of the area.

According to his scorecard, the Transition Committee has so far completed and commissioned 16 Water projects with generating sets in the 16 wards of the local government, massive but ongoing renovation of structures in the council, construction of six classrooms block in Ikot Inyang, ward 2, remodeling of council gate, landscaping project, repainting of council buildings, purchase of motorbikes to members of the traditional rulers council, grading of major roads, empowerment of over 100 youths, women with business grants ranging from 100k, 150k and 200k respectively, monthly payments of 50k and 20k stipend to over 400 stakeholders, women and youths in the various committees of the council, restoration of electricity in the urban wards having experienced power outage over the years, among others.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Transition Committee, Dr. Kingsley Frank has also received widespread plaudits from stakeholders and people, particularly from the grassroots.

The commendations came in during the Commissioning of water projects executed by the Dr. Kingsley Frank-led government through the respective Transition Committee members.
Speaking in Ward 11 and 16 being the last day of the commissioning of mini water projects, the Transition members cum supervisors representing the wards, commended the Chairman for the even distribution and location of projects to all the wards and further selection of 10 women from the respective wards for yet another round of empowerment.

Also speaking at Ward 16 during the commissioning, the ward stakeholder and Commissioner in charge of International Relations and Transnational NGOs, at EARCOM, Hon Goodnews Etiutom Ediene, said the people of the Ward and indeed the local government were impressed by Dr. Frank’s performance.
He noted with nostalgia that when the Chairman came on board there were high expectations and cynicism at some quarters but with what the Chairman has done so far, he has surpassed the expectation. He urged him to forge on and keep projecting the local government in a good light through his impact-driven administration.
