DR MRS MARTHA UDOM IYA U”MISS KE AKWA IBOM

In the social development matrix, societies do not develop by themselves, but by people of noble breed, whose selfless service creates opportunities for the economic prosperity and human capital development of the people.

This breed of people transcends from the primordial realm of sentiments to patriotism in their leadership mien. Through the test of time in AKWA IBOM, the woman, Dr Martha UDOM perfectly fits into this frame and has been a brand of personality in the social development narrative of AKWA IBOM as a first lady.

At the instance of the official flag-off of FEYReP, September 2015, one is convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Martha has so much in stock for the people and is to her, an article of faith.
As a mother of all, she has always make sure that the well being and growth of her children is protected and taking care of, mostly the female genders.

Dr Martha Udom means different things to different people. To some people, she is an extremely quiet personality while others see her as a strategist. Many call her Mrs Empowerment while Elders know her for humility.

As a first lady, she has prove herself and led us by a good example, she has been a mother to the motherless, a mother to the fatherless.
And it’s with this hope and trust we believe when she stepped down as the first lady we will miss her.
Mma Iya UMiss Tutu.

We salute you as a group eloquent mother for always standing by the existing protocol of good conduct and governance established by His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel..
You will go higher and higher than this..

AS THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN, MARTHA, TAKES A BOW- AKFGG(PINKGIRLS) EXPRESSES MISS

The concept and context.

_To grow in the character qualities of the ‘eshet-chayil’: her determination, her trustworthiness, her shrewdness and initiative, her diligence, foresight, and the prizing of her resources. the virtuous woman is the one who possesses these qualities

There is a burning desire within each woman, to be the best they can, which, at times pushes them to take lessons, sign up for continuing education or join a Bible Study, all, in the verge of growing for the better.

But, the problem this days is, knowing what is better and ideal. This makes some of them growing up and strongly influenced by a philosophy of Christian womanhood whose ideal was the passive, “womanly” woman who makes her man “feel like a man”. But, as they grew older, they may have been influenced by the feminist ideal, the ‘bra-burning, self-actualizing woman’.

What’s the ideal they should be striving for?

The Bible sets forth an ideal and calls the ideal woman an ‘eshet-chayil’, which is the Hebrew word, for a “virtuous woman” or a “wife of noble character”. Eschet is the Hebrew word meaning “woman”. ‘Chayil’, is a much more richly varied word which can mean “to be firm or to endure” physical strength, moral strength, army, or wealth.

Flowing from the above, we can suppose that an eshet-chayil is a person of strength who stands firm. One primary quality of the Bible’s ideal is fortitude which clearly decorates Our Martha who Matters, Her Excellency Martha Udom Emmanuel.

The Biblical Ruth who was an extremely poor, unmarried widow yet she possesed something special, the basis, Boaz gives for her being an eshet-chayil because, she has done a great kindness. This is the description of Her Excellency,a woman every woman would miss.

Today, another eshet-chayil is celebrated in our dispensation, considering her virtuousness and kindness to the women folk. She is not other than, Her Excellency, Dr Martha Udom Emmanuel, wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Being the wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, never stop her kindness to people, mostly the woman.

Dr. Martha who joined her husband in the affairs of Akwa Ibom State, used her initiative “Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path Initiative” (FEYRep), to garner solutions to daunting challenges affecting women, the poor and the needies in our society.

FEYRep initiative has brought permanent solutions to Domestic Violence, Child Labour, Rape, Abuse of Women, Sexual Harassment, amongst which are made constitutional, where offenders faces severe penalties. What a miss to such a virtue!

Through her, the initiative had further put smiles on Akwa Ibomites through Women inclusiveness in politics, Shelters to widows and widowers, P’Care to pregnant women, Soft grants to market women which unprecedented joy and gladness on the faces of women has thrown them on the streets with a shout of praise, expressing costly miss

That’s why, women under the auspices of Akwa Ibom Female Voices for Good Governance (AKFGG-PinkGirls) in collaboration with State Women Groups, has organiszed an unprecedented epoch-making event with the caption, “MARTHA, IYA’ UMISS” in order to accord privileges on women, others in tandem with their expressions.

AKWA IBOM TEACHERS END STRIKE, COMMEND GOV EMMANUEL FOR FRIENDLY DISPOSITION TO WORKERS’ WELFARE

The four days industrial action embarked upon by public primary and secondary school teachers in Akwa Ibom State has been called off.

This is sequel to resolutions reached by State Government with the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, at the end of a closed-door meeting held late Sunday evening and presided over by the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel at Government House, Uyo.

Briefing Government House Correspondents after the meeting, Commissioner for Labour and Manpower Development, Mr. Aniefiok Nkom, affirmed that government and the labour leaders have dialogued to a compromise on the issues that gave rise to the industrial action and described the resolution as a win-win outcome.

“It was a very peaceful meeting. The Governor saw what needed to be done and the NLC also saw what was delaying the process. So it was a win-win situation and the matters enumerated by NUT Chairman have been resolved,” Nkom said.

On her part, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet, expressed gratitude to Governor Emmanuel for taking prompt actions to ensure that schools in the state resume.

This, she added, was indicative of the premium Governor Emmanuel places on education and is workers-friendly disposition.

Confirming the resolution, the State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Edet Emenyi, lauded the Governor’s disposition towards the teachers, assuring that teachers would return to classrooms for commencement of academic activities.

Emenyi said, “Issues bothering on teachers welfare and non payment of allowances have been resolved today.

“On that note, the teeming teachers in Akwa Ibom State are ready to call off the strike”.

The State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Sunny James, who was also present at the meeting, expressed the solidarity of Akwa Ibom workers with the teachers, saying that the teachers’ demand for unpaid entitlements including leave grant, refund of 7.5% deductions for contributory pension and other issues were extensively deliberated upon and resolved accordingly.

He therefore expressed appreciation to the governor for his prompt response to the teachers’ demands, maintaining that the resolution would pave way for NUT to join other sectors of the state workforce in the celebration of the 2023 Workers Day.

“A broken and contrite heart thou wilt not despise” the holy book

This guts is replicated in a young and submissive follow of Ikot Etim community, Ukanafun LG, who has risen to the aspiration of a public office in his late 20s, an aspiration whom will stall a young fellow and place sanity as it concern youthful slots in politics.

His believes in politics centering on the usual system portfolio and institutional bargains has given him the guts to make a difference for the welfare of the people.

HENSEK’S Excellent Work on Airport Road Expansion and How It Will Boost Akwa Ibom’s Image and Deepen Economic Activities

By Samuel Udoma

The ongoing expansion of the Airport Road in Uyo handled by HENSEK Integrated Services, one of the finest construction firms in the country, is not only timely, but very strategic. The Airport Road has become a major entrance into the State via the Victor Attah International Airport. Thousands of vehicles ply the road daily, with Oron road equally housing dense human settlements in Shelter Afrique, Ifa, Mbiabong, Ibiaku and the environs.

The road expansion was necessitated by the surge in vehicular movements on the road, nearly overcrowded road users and the need to stretch the metropolis. Consequently, the project has already witnessed positive ripple effects. High-end estates and property developers have sprung and are doting nearly every kilometer throughout the length of the road.

Handlers of the project, HENSEK, has received praises for his topnotch, innovative engineering and timely delivery over time. The top indigenous firm, headed by Engr. Uwem Okoko, has put its midas touch on a number of key projects in the state. Notable among them include the internationally acclaimed 10 lanes Ring Road 3, 6 lanes Ring Road 2, and numerous internal roads across the state.

The expansion of the Airport Road is dear to the heart of Gov. Udom Emmanuel. Since coming on board about 8 years ago, Gov. Emmanuel has been very intentional about changing the industrial landscape and infrastructural perception of Akwa Ibom State.

Ibom Air and its attendant subsidiaries, has been one of such interventions. The newly expanded road will complement the New Ultra Modern Terminal at the airport, further deepening the State’s status as the new national destination.

HENSEK, whose abilities the Governor trusts, was called upon for the all important expansion. The project has been etched on near perfection – totally devoid of the usual rancours of compensation payment and community hassles. The host communities have very receptive.

Worthy of note is the fact that, the newly widened Airport Road is already of immense economic importance to the state. It is the route that welcomes the world into Akwa Ibom State. Its beauty and serenity instantly serves as metaphor to the ideals that stand Uyo and Akwa Ibom out in the comity of states and capitals. In perspectives, visitors see Akwa Ibom first from the Airport Road.

The route also opens up the state into a projected major industrial catchment area – Oro, where it empties into the Atlantic which will house the Ibom Deep Seaport. Oro is also known for fishing and of course, a coastal terminal that links Calabar by water. It is only befitting and very futuristic.

HENSEK as usual, has brought finesse to the road expansion. New medians are being concreted to not only segment category of road users, but to also heighten the majesty and composition of the road. The expansion has eliminated shanty houses on such a major road and are being replaced with modern structures to further add beauty and cosmopolitancy.

How the expansion of the Airport Road will maximally boost economic activities in the area and State cannot be overemphasized. So far, estate owners and landlords on the route are counting their lucks, for a good road is the one of the major drawers of new settlements.

Housing development will witness great boom and more developers will capitalize on the access roads provided by the expansion. New hubs and settlements will not only stretch the town further, but will open up new markets even closer to resource materials.

With the expansion nearing completion, plyers of the road have already been lauding the ease of drive and a sense of spatial luxury they are now being accorded. The Governor’s vision was to get an expressway from the airport to town, through HENSEK’S ingenuity and interpretation, that is today – a reality. Enjoy the world class road and drive safely.

PDP KNOWS NO BOUND AS AKWA IBOM YOUTHS GROWS IN CONVENTIONAL POLITICS.

…Prince Ndianabasi Emmanson in view.

The concept/context -anonymous

Voting, communicating with representatives, attending formalized political events, and becoming a member of a political party has been the conventional culture of politicking in decades within the state and beyond.

This conception has no doubt given focus and decadence to beings who wishes to make career in that sector with the connotation of conventional political behaviours thereby keeping with traditions of politics.

The exact traditions vary from one society to another, this would differ from modern or alternative political behaviors. In the USA, it is conventional political behavior to have somewhat conservative democratic opinions in keeping with this country’s status as one of the earlier democracies, where a person with conventional political behavior may attempt to convince friends to vote for a popular party.

Following these steps, one is considered viable to also lead people withing his political circle.

This has being the case of an Ukanafun born politician, a vibrant and energetic young fellow of Ikot Etim, Ndianabasi Emmanson who followed political due process as laid internationally.

Prince ND as fondly called, has paid his price, beaten the drums, attains political rallies, support candidates to success, and most importantly study the process without neglect, as true Party man.

No doubt the People’s Democratic Party remain cerebral and respected in Akwa Ibom State given to it professional attainments.

However, Prince Ndianabasi Emmanson’s aspiration in the PDP family remain a process duly followed and will act as catalyst/ energy booster to youths who believes certain percentage should be shared to the youths.

As a cerebral party (PDP) is maintained in the state, let’s join hands in changing the narrative again.

Kindly stay connected on this medium for updates on the consultative visit.

‘Let me salute all of you on your milestone. Like I have always said, one of the most remarkable chapters of my life was my education in a polytechnic. I am a proud product of Polytechnic education. And I dare say, Polytechnic graduates rank among some of the very best you will see around’.
